Salmon and trout fishing in season and coarse fishing are available on request to the owner. Deer stalking and rough shooting can also be arranged. Nearby are the historic ruins of Glenluce Abbey and the area is steeped in history and interest. Within a short drive is access to the coast and beaches and just outside nearby Glenluce is an excellent seaside golf course with several other courses all within easy reach. The nearby town of Stranraer is the ferry port for Northern Ireland. The Rhinns peninsula has a number of coastal villages with, at the Mull of Galloway, the southernmost point in Scotland, a lighthouse and visitor centre. The village of New Luce itself has a shop and a pub serving meals both within a very short walking distance.
