With views of the estuary, the house provides very spacious accommodation over two floors in one of the most popular and desirable holiday locations in South West Scotland. Apart from the safe sandy beach in the village, there are other beaches within a short drive. There is a small country house hotel in Rockcliffe, a shop and cafe in Colvend and, in nearby Kippford, the sailing centre for the South West, there are two pubs on the front both serving food. There are numerous golf courses in the area, fishing, sailing, windsurfing etc can all be undertaken locally and the trailhead for the Dalbeattie section of the 7Stanes Mountain Bike Network is within a ten minute drive of the house.
